The J Gym at Fanshawe College was definitely the place to be on campus on the night of October 20, as the men's and women's volleyball teams opened up the regular season on their home court. The evening offered up plenty of excitement as both teams were able to get their seasons off on the right foot with convincing victories over the visiting St. Clair Saints.

In women's action, Falcons team captain Katie Reese led the Falcons to a 3-0 set victory. After taking the opening two sets convincingly, 25-13 and 25-18, the women were challenged in the third and final set, before prevailing with a 25-23 set win. The women are back in action at the Fanshawe J Gym on Saturday, when they host the visiting Sheridan Bruins. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.

In the men's game, the Falcons got their season off to a solid start by wearing down the visiting St. Clair Saints with a straight sets victory 25-23, 25-14 and 25-9. Jordan McTavish was named player of the game for the Falcons, who return to action on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the J Gym when they take on the Sheridan Bruins.
