After successful regular seasons, the Fanshawe Falcons men's and women's soccer teams could be in for tough games as action continues in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association soccer playoffs. While the women had last week off to rest for their quarter final match, the men were able to advance to quarter final action with a 3-0 shutout victory over Redeemer College. Goal scorers for the Falcons were Kofi Boeteng, Stefan Doma and Milos Janikic.

On Saturday, October 23, the women's team will return to action after their first round bye to square off against the Durham College Lords. While Fanshawe will have home field advantage for the game, it figures to be a hard-fought match between two teams who only have one defeat between them. Fanshawe's defense will have their work cut out for them, as the Lords were the third-highest scoring team in the OCAA this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Fanshawe College.

Later on Saturday, the men's team will travel to King City, Ontario, near Toronto, to battle the undefeated Seneca Sting. Fanshawe will have its hands full against a well-rested Seneca team who had a bye from last week's action. Fanshawe will need a strong effort to defeat a Seneca team that put in 20 goals this season, on its way to an undefeated regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Seneca College.
