Volleyball teams continue to dominate

The Fanshawe Falcons volleyball teams continued their early season dominance by picking up victories over the visiting Canadore Panthers on Saturday and the Nipissing Lakers on Sunday. With the victories, the men remain undefeated at 4- 0, while the women drop to 3-1 after losing their first match of the season to Nipissing on Sunday.

On the men's side of the action, they were taken to the fourth set on Saturday night by a very game Canadore team before putting the Panthers away 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-13. The next afternoon, the men rode their momentum from the previous evening by sweeping the Nipissing Lakers 25-12, 25-23, 25- 13. Player of the game for Sunday's match was second-year London native Demetri Kantzos.

For the women, the Falcons used a dominating performance to sweep away the visiting Canadore Panthers on Saturday evening with final scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-10. It was a different tune for the women on Sunday afternoon, who were pushed to a fifth and final set by the Nipissing Lakers before suffering their first loss of the season 25-21, 15-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-11.

The Falcons return to action Wednesday when both teams travel to Mohawk.
