Robbery in Fanshawe area

At approximately 2 a.m. on January 8, two males robbed a man walking around the Thurman Circle and Fleming Drive area near Fanshawe.

"(The) suspects demanded (the victim) turn over his property," said Const. Dennis Rivest, public information officer for London Police Service. "The victim was struck in the face by both suspects. The victim then fell to the ground where the suspects proceeded to kick him and steal his property. The victim sustained minor injuries."

In a press release issued by London Police Services, the suspects were both described as black males between five-foot-10 and six feet tall, approximately 174 lbs, 17 to 20 years of age, and as having black hair.

Though police did not release details of whether the victim or suspects are students at Fanshawe College, the incident serves as a reminder to stay safe.

"A good rule of thumb is to not be by yourself when you're walking at nighttime in the dark," cautioned Const. Rivest. "Walk with a friend, have your cell phone with you — almost every student has a cell phone … at any moment, you have access to a phone to call for help."

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or send anonymous tips online: www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
