Get up-to-date info with OSAP app

For Students wanting easier access to their OSAP information can just look at their phones thanks to the new OSAP app.

The provincial government rolled out the mobile app last week to create a more efficient way for students to get updates on their applications and find out how much they will receive.

"We heard from student groups that (they) need more access to information and (the provincial government) needs to eliminate red tape," said John Milloy, Ontario's Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities.

In addition, applications will be made available to students months earlier and the OSAP website has been re-done.

These changes have been made in regards to the McGuinty government's Open Ontario goals.

From 2010 to 2011, the government will be allocating $81 million for additional financial support for college and university students. To download the app, visit www.ontario.ca/OSAPmobile.
