Get your career on track with Career Week
Looking to kick-start your search
for a career, co-op placement or
summer job? Print off a stack of
resumes and head to the 2011 Career
Fair on February 9 in the J-Gyms.
Fanshawe students, graduates and alumni are welcome to this annual event.
"The purpose of the event is to connect employers with well-trained and talented Fanshawe students and graduates," explained Christina Cook, customer service representative for Fanshawe. "It's meant to inform students and grads of career opportunities and give them information on careers, and basically help them with their futures."
"We had a really good response this year with employers," she said. "Some new ones will be attending, as well."
Over 80 employers from a variety of sectors will be attending the Career Fair, including GoodLife Fitness, EllisDon, Pepsico and Ontario Public Service. There's something for everybody, said Cook. "All disciplines are welcome."
Come prepared, because you never know — this could land you a part-time position, or even your dream job. "Dress like you would for an employment interview or to hand out resumes," she advised. "Some employers may be pre-screening candidates on the spot."
"It's a good way to market yourself to employers. It's a great networking opportunity."
The Career Fair is just one event that takes place during Career Week. Career Services will have a variety of events taking place from February 7 to 10 to get your career off on the right track.
