Second-year forward Matthew Tkaczyk scored a game-high: 28 points in Fanshawe's 69-67 victory against Niagara. The win helped push Fanshawe ahead of Niagara by two points in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Division standings. Fanshawe has a record of 10-5.

Tkaczyk, a London native, is one of the top scorers on the team, averaging 13.6 points per game. He is the team leader in threepointers, scoring 28 of them this season. His efforts against Niagara helped him earn OCAA Male Athlete of the Week. The secondyear forward received the honours for the week ending Sunday, February 6.

Fanshawe has clinched a postseason berth, but remains in a fight for playoff seeding, with just one game left before the playoffs.

"We will make it to the playoffs, but once we start the playoffs we are going to have to upset some teams because we are going to be the underdogs," said third-year guard Jordan Dixon.

Head coach Glenn Johnston continues to work the team hard to iron out the kinks.

"We listen to the coach, he gives good advice, and we do our best for him," said Dixon. He added he thinks the team needs to work harder on defense and to get more rebounds. "We give them too many chances, we need to clean up the glass."

The Falcons' final game is on February 22 at 8 p.m. at Sheridan College.
