There's something special about the Juno Awards, in that each year it gives an opportunity for those casual radio listeners and pop music enthusiasts to really get together and bond with the music nerds in our nation — a chance for two completely different musicloving groups to put aside their differences and talk about the music.

Like a Super Bowl party or a bonfire where someone brings along a guitar, award shows have a way of causing people to get together and celebrate, and we can't think of a better way to mark the best in Canadian music. We're going to cover the 2011 Juno Awards in a lot of ways: print articles leading up to the event will cover the latest developments with the artists and events around the awards; online blogs will have photos and events highlights as well as any brief interviews we're able to procure; and live tweets from on location at the Awards to shed a little light on the magic and energy behind the scene.

We've already begun; through reading week (February 28 to March 4), we've been posting picks for the major awards and participating in discussion in the Music Recommendations thread and online chat on our FSU social network.

But can we pick a winner? Voting for most of the categories is determined as each potential nominee is examined rigorously by a jury of professionals within the Canadian music industry, so there's room for lots of debate if you disagree with us, however, the Juno Fan Choice of the Year is not like most categories.

The Juno Fan Choice of the Year is sponsored by Live Nation, and fans across the country can make their opinion known — the voting was open to all and closed on March 4.

This year, the nominees for Juno Fan Choice of the Year (and their most recent album, respectively) are:

- Drake (Thank Me Later)
- Hedley (The Show Must Go)
- Johnny Reid (A Place Called Love)
- Justin Bieber (My World 2.0)
- Michael Bublé (Crazy Love)

Said Baden: "Personally I think it's Bieber for the win over Drake, mainly because of how dynamic (he) has become with just two albums out, and additionally his acoustic renditions as well ... (he) has created a Beatlemania-like phenomenon."

Said Bobby: "Did you see Bieber on Letterman recently? He was reading the 'Top Ten Reasons It's Fun To Be Justin Bieber,' one of which was, 'If I tweet, "I just sneezed," a billion people will tweet, "Gesundheit."'"

"Bublé and Drake had brilliant records, but I just don't see it being enough to make a difference. If Hedley somehow wins, I'll never try to predict anything ever again."

Check the FSU social network for more in the way of predictions, and watch for blog entries to begin on FSU.ca and the Interrobang website. Additionally, stay tuned to this space for more as Interrobang: Road to the Junos continues through March 2011.
