Conference reminds students of the dangers of drinking and driving

I'm against drinking and driving — are you?

On Wednesday, March 16, beginning at 1 p.m. in Forwell Hall, the marketing management program is putting on a conference to remind students that drinking and driving is still a serious issue.

"The main objective of this conference is to let students know that we are still facing this social problem, not just in Canada, but everywhere else," explained Pablo Tovar, a marketing management student who is organizing the event.

The conference will feature two speakers: a representative from Arrive Alive and an officer from the OPP. "Basically they are going to talk about the consequence and new laws (regarding drinking and driving)," said Tovar.

The students also plan to show several videos about drinking and driving.

The marketing students made a special effort to host the event before St. Patrick's Day, to remind students that it is possible to have fun while staying safe.
