The Fanshawe Falcons basketball team played their hearts out in their February 26 game against George Brown College. The Falcons won the game 75-39, thanks to guard Jordan Dixon's 17 points, forward Matt Tkaczyk's 14 points, centre Darcy Young's 11 points and forward Pavle Beric's 10 points. This win made the Falcons eligible to play the provincials at Sault Saint Marie.

Fanshawe was the final team to advance to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association's men's basketball championships. On March 3, the Falcons had a game against Durham College, and emerged victorious with a final score of 79-67. Dixon led the men with 21 points, Tkaczyk helped out by scoring 16 points and guard Mike Dubreuil added in 10 points.

Fanshawe then advanced to face Humber College in the second semi-final, which was played on March 4. The Falcons were ahead early in the game, but the Humber Hawks pulled up early in the second half to win 62-57 and advanced to Saturday's gold medal game. Fanshawe suffered a nineminute scoreless period to start off the second half; during this time Humber took the lead and never lost it. Tkacyk, who led the Falcons in points-per-game in the regular season, was left scoreless in the game against Humber. Forward Gareth Edwards led the way with 16 points, Dixon had 14 points and forward Andrew Campbell scored 13 points.

On March 5, the Falcons faced Algonquin in the bronze medal game. The Falcons had a sevenpoint lead by halftime and glided to a 66-56 victory over the Algonquin Thunder. Dixon led Fanshawe with 24 points, Campbell scored 17 points and Tkaczyk added 10 points to the victory.

Unfortunately, the Falcons did not make it to the Nationals, but they played a very good season and took home the bronze medal from the OCAA championships.
