Summer is almost here, and for most of you that means no more school - you're ready to have some fun. Summer is the best time to be single; lots of couples break up right before summer just because they know there is no better time to be unattached. All the possibilities lay in these four months of freedom.

So many people settle down right away and marry their first love, but where is the fun in that? I don't think anyone has really lived until they live life on their own and experience different kinds of relationships, and the summer is the perfect time to do this.

I have kissed a lot of frogs in my life so I can honestly say that I know what's out there. No one likes to kiss a frog but at least I am out there and not afraid to experience new things. I can say when I am in a relationship I will never regret the chances I didn't take and the experiences I never had. I would only hope everyone can say the same, and if not, I think you should do something to change that.

The summertime is a great time to experience the dating world. The main thing is you have to get out there. If you're staying in your house every night with your cat watching re-runs of Friends and wondering why you're alone, it's because you're not out there. So it's time to grab a volleyball and beach towel and try doing things that surround you with people.

Joining a team is a fantastic way to spend your summer and to meet new people. It could be anything from a baseball to an ultimate Frisbee team. Not only do you meet new people, it's also convenient to have a fling with someone on your team. Who says the fun has to stop once the game is over? I strongly suggest that you don't hang out before a game - both of you become useless to your team if you have no more energy.

Who doesn't love sitting on a patio on a hot summer day with a beer and friends or going to the bar on a nice summer night? Not many people, that's for sure, so you know that you have a great chance of meeting someone there. Most people are skeptical about meeting someone at the bar, but one of the best guys I ever dated I met at the bar in the summer. Just remember, this is a summer fling; it doesn't have to be perfect. You're not looking for Mr. Right; you're just looking for Mr. Right Now.

On the beach you are able to scout out that hottie you have always fantasized about because the beach doesn't leave much to the imagination. This might sound a little shallow, but I think everyone should experience a summer fling with some eye candy. Having a good time with the tanned half-naked guy or girl in a bikini on the beach can have some benefits.

Being single in the summer can give you an opportunity to explore different things and find out what you like and don't like. Don't be afraid to try new things.
