Men's basketball shaking off jitters

The Fanshawe men's basketball team have been working to fix the holes in their game. The team is full of first-year players and different talent sets and they are working on putting it all together.

"We have been working a lot on chemistry and defense over the last couple weeks. We're still looking lost out there at some points, and we are working to get rid of that," said player Aaron Ragobar.

The team played a strong game against Centennial on October 2, but they ended up losing in late in the game. Despite the loss, it was a great time for the team to feel out the competition and each other in an exhibition game.

"We lost the game in the last quarter. We were down by three points going into the second half and were keeping it close, but the last quarter just killed us," said Ragobar.

The game was also missing a lot of key players, said coach Glenn Johnston, "which was a perfect opportunity to play the rookies and let them have some playing time, which is never a bad thing."

Another strong point to the season thus far is everyone seems to be playing with a lot of hustle and heart; they want to win no matter how much work has to be put in. The men begin their regular season November 2 at Sheridan, then on November 4 travel to Lambton. The Falcons home opener is November 9 versus Humber at 8 p.m. in J-gym.
