If you know someone really well, you know where they shop. A gift card to one of your favourite stores or restaurants, or for something more practical like gas and groceries, makes for a much-appreciated gift.

Stores like Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart offer a variety of sample packs and gift sets for both men and women. Many sets include various perfumes, lotions and makeup samples so you can find your new favourites.

School Supplies:
Another boring necessity, but who doesn't need another USB stick or fresh printer ink for the new semester?

Razors:
They may not be the most exciting stocking stuffer, but it sure is nice not to be the one buying these expensive necessities.

Orange:
Traditionally, receiving an orange in the toe of your stocking was a real treat, as those fruits weren't readily available during the winter season in colder climates. Today, it's a symbolic gesture that harkens back to those times.
