Regional HIV/AIDS Connection came to Fanshawe’s campus last week for Sexual Awareness Week. Tomorrow, they kick off their own Testing Week, which encourages people living in the London area to get tested to know their sexual health status.

The Fanshawe Student Union's Sexual Awareness Week may be over, but for the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection, it's just ramping up. They're kicking off their annual Are You Doin' It? campaign with a celebration, Single In The City, on September 24 at Ciroc Lounge (335 Richmond St.).

During the launch party, Are You Doin' It? reps will be sharing information about safer sex, testing and handing out free condoms and other resources. “The night is meant to promote our Testing Week campaign and let folks know that it's important to get tested on a regular basis if they are sexually active, and to help people connect with resources and places to get tested in their local area,” said Kevin Murphy, subcommittee lead for the campaign promotions.

There will also be sexy trivia and prizes hosted by local sexologist Dr. Carlen Costa, who is the regional coordinator of HIV/AIDS services at RHAC.

Approximately 30 per cent of people living with HIV in Ontario don't know it. RHAC is encouraging people who are sexually active to know their sexual health status by getting tested annually — or more often, depending on how many sexual partners or possible exposures to HIV and other STIs that they may have.

This is RHAC's fourth annual Are You Doin' It? campaign, which they run in partnership with the Middlesex-London Health Unit, London InterCommunity Health Centre's Options Clinic, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Fanshawe College and Western University. Testing Week runs from September 23 to 27.

The event is free to attend and it's tons of fun — check it out at Ciroc Lounge on September 24 from 9 to 11 p.m. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/AYDILaunch2013.
