London's streets are lined with a diversity of storefronts. From clothing stores to restaurants, the city has a lot to offer. What might be surprising for any nerds or geeks in London is that the city actually has a large amount of stores dedicated to selling pop culture goods, boasting more than five stores in the downtown area alone.

Heroes Comics (186 Dundas St.)

This store may look small from the outside, but once you step inside you'll feel like you stepped into the twilight zone. Good thing the store is aptly named 'the largest comic store in South Western Ontario' because Heroes Comics is over 4000 square feet, with an additional second floor, and is completely filled with an array of pop culture merchandise. Be it a figure, pop collectible, comic, graphic novel or classic toy, this store's got it. The store also supports local artists by selling their comic books in the shop. Imperial Hobbies (256 Dundas St)

Imperial Hobbies specializes in selling table top games, miniatures for gaming and historic ones, board games, painting supplies, role playing games and collectible card games. The store has a large gaming room for people to casually play and customers are welcomed to use the space whenever. Dave Carnie, the owner of Imperial Hobbies, said it is the first gaming store in London to have offered its customers a space to play instore. Carnie even allows gaming after hours for sessions that go too long. The store has an excellent selection of miniatures and painting tools to colour them. There are monthly scheduled gaming events and tournaments, giving a gamers in London a good space to play regularly against others. A bonus, the store is dog friendly as long as it is well behaved. L.A. Mood Comics and Games (350 Richmond St)

A cozy store that specializes in board games, comics and Magic the Gathering cards. L.A. Mood hosts a variety of weekly events in the store's basement gaming space for people to enjoy such as D&D Wednesdays and Magic Tuesdays & Fridays. Magic connoisseurs can check out their expansive collection of cards or can even bring in cards to trade or sell for store credit, which can be kept track of with L.A. Neo Tokyo The Anime Store (787 Dundas St)

The only place in London completely dedicated to bringing fans their Japanese pop culture fix. Neo Tokyo has the latest anime, manga and Gunpla models available on the market. You can also take a gander at the various types of keychains, buttons, plushies, and snacks the store has to offer. If what you're not looking for is on the shelves, they will gladly order in what it is you are after. There are even treasure troves of rare and out of print titles on their shelves. Time to get your cool on with some of the amazing merchandise here. Über Cool Stuff has a vast array of things to buy from Totoro Tea mugs to Pusheen Cat collectibles. You want something cool and interesting? You'll find it here. The store even sets up some of their vast amount of board games for patrons to try when they visit.
