The Out Back shack is preparing to host a Bob Marley Birthday Bash themed pub night on Tuesday Feb. 5. Accompanying The Out Back Shack’s pub style menu will be drink specials all night.

According to the Fanshawe Student Union (FSU) events and activities manager, Kevin Masterson, the night will also feature a live DJ, who will be playing many popular reggae, dancehall and soca artists.

The purpose of these various themed events is to bring forth a cultural involvement with the students of Fanshawe.

Masterson had positives to share about the event.

“No matter what you’re into, we try to get everyone involved,” Masterson said.

Tickets are $2 in advance or $5 at the door, with the night starting at 8 p.m.

Although the event does not fall specifically on the birthday of Bob Marley, it gives students a chance to partake in school affairs and celebrate what makes them unique to each of their backgrounds and cultures.

As with other pub nights, all students are welcomed with a valid Fanshawe student card or 19+ photo ID.

Fanshawe business marketing students, Wyatt Stone and Natalie Beech commented about the event’s whimsical theme. “It sounds interesting, I would go for fun.” Stone said.
