On May 16, Interrobang interviewed Wolf Performance Hall Coordinator and London Public Library Events Coordinator Bob Giorgini.

Giorgini coordinates events and brings artists to perform at the venue. Fanshawe’s First Take Film Festival is usually hosted every year at the Wolf.

Giorgini said the Performance Hall has a strong relationship with Fanshawe College.

“In the past, we have hosted a number of different events from film festivals to award ceremonies to different faculties that have rented the Wolf for different performances and/or presentations that they wanted to do in the past,” Giorgini said. “So we have a very comfortable relationship with the folks at Fanshawe and some of our techs are actually [Music Industry Arts] grads”

Wolf Performance Hall is a “modest and intimate” venue located in the Citi Plaza in downtown London that is newly focused on attracting musical performances to assist with the development of  London’s music scene.

“London’s music scene is developing quite significantly and there are a number of venues that have been around for many, many years,” Giorgini said. “Although we’ve been around for 20 years we have not really been open to the public in the way we are now.”

Giorgini said things have been different since the pandemic but that he’s happy to be back in action.

“It’s exciting and a little stressful because the world is really different. People are approaching things very differently. It’s exciting to be back where we’re so happy that we can open the doors, we can be sitting here without our masks on and hearing live music once again.”

For Giorgini, the most important thing now is reintroducing Londoners to the Wolf.

“We’ve been around, we’ve been available, but it’s really not one of those venues that people have come to. Again, that’s just a matter of not being aware. But…we’re hoping to change that.”
