Pete's Links: Useful online links

Another week, another set of websites to lose plenty of time on. Let's take a look!

CD Now
www.cdnow.com
This is a site that I use more of a resource than anything. I mean, if you want to order practically any DVD or CD, this is probably one of the best places to order them. I like the fact that you can read some really insightful reviews and rate the music/DVDs. Another cool feature is that if you select a DVD/CD, the site will automatically show you similar items that have been purchased, so it gives you suggestions of what type of music or movie you may also find interesting. I like that you can also create lists of favourite movies or music that others can check out. Oh yeah, the prices are also pretty fair.

Trend Micro
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
This site provides an excellent online virus scan. If you need a second opinion about what may be wrong with your computer, get on this site and let it diagnose your PC. If there's something wrong (virus, spyware, etc.), it'll get rid of it for free. Not too bad, huh? If you really like the way the software works, you can buy products at a fairly reasonable price.

Mediamax
www.mediamax.com
Are you looking for an easy and free way of storing and sharing HUGE files? Look no further than this site. It provides 25 MB of free online storage space for media and other files. It sure beats wasting CDs or sending stuff via MSN or it's sharing folders.

TV on DVD
www.tvshowsondvd.com
If you like TV but you like it even more when you can watch your favourite shows (new and old) unedited and uninterrupted whenever you want, then this site is for you. It really doesn't give any reviews, but it is pretty reliable in sharing the most up to date release information and specs of upcoming TV shows that are coming to the DVD format.
