Rotaract on it's way to Mexico

The winter blues have set in and dreams of tropical weather is all that's getting us through the next couple months. It's time to plan a trip somewhere warm that immerses you in another culture and gives you the sense of satisfaction that only comes from truly helping people in need.

The Fanshawe Rotaract Club is planning an international service initiative in Cuernavaca, Mexico and you're invited.

First, you need to join Rotaract to be eligible to go on the trip. This is an extra bonus to make friends on campus, attend professional development events and other community service activities throughout the year.

Once all your exams are done at the end of April, pack your bags and fly down to Mexico for a week of snow-free bliss. Fanshawe Rotaract has been in contact with a Rotaract Club in Mexico that is looking for volunteers to help clean up a school, assist with cultural activities, and bring some supplies for the students.

You will be staying with members of the local Rotary Club, so costs will be pretty minimal. To entice you even further, Rotaract is currently organizing fundraising campaigns to help subsidize your expenses.

If you're not afraid to get your hands dirty to provide some much needed support to this school, be sure to contact Lilliana Sanchez (l_sanchez23061@fanshaweonline.ca) for more information. Spaces are limited to about 10 students, so get in touch for the application form as soon as possible. It just might keep you from going delirious while waiting for the bus when it's -20°C and the snow is up to your chin.
