Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye, with all of its action, chase scenes and plot twists, is a movie that grabs your attention and keeps it the whole way through.

Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf), has chosen a life with little responsibilities, working at a photocopy store and spending his nights playing poker with friends. Content to live alone in a small apartment, he seems unwilling to change for anyone. That is until after a tragedy hits close to home with Jerry, throwing his world upside down. To make matters worse, he arrives home one day to find his apartment full of guns, and the makings of bombs. He then receives a phone call from a woman, telling him to get out of his apartment right away. Stunned and confused, Jerry stays where he is and gets arrested.


After being questioned by Agent Thomas Morgan (Billy Bob Thornton), Jerry attempts to make a phone call, only to be connected with the same woman from before, who now has somehow found a way for him to escape, as long as he does what she tells him to.

Rachel (Michelle Monaghan) is a single mother, whose whole world revolves around her son. After dropping him off at the train station for a class trip to DC, Rachel proceeds to meet up with some friends for a much-needed night of frivolity. That is until she too receives a phone call from the mysterious woman, telling her that she must do as she is told or her son's train will be derailed.

Rachel, and Jerry, forced together by a woman who can “see” everything, and make unthinkable things happen, try to support each other through this whirlwind of events. From here on out, there is no rest, and nothing that they mustn't do, to protect those that they love and satisfy the woman on the phone.

This movie was as good as I hoped it would be, with a twist that I didn't see coming. It had tons of great action that goes from start to finish. Car chases, stand offs, guns, bombs, mysterious controlling forces, you name it, this movie had it.

Eagle Eye does a great job of grabbing your attention right away, and keeping you at the edge of your seat until the very end. There is not one thing I would change about this movie.

Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) was incredible. He is such an amazing actor, and has such a presence on screen. You find yourself watching him, waiting for the next slice of emotions that he does so well. Nothing he does feels forced, which makes him so enjoyable to watch. I am so happy that he is getting so many good roles, because I think he is my new favourite actor.

Michelle Monaghan (Made of Honor) was also good. When I first saw her in movies, I didn't really like her style, but she has grown on me. Billy Bob Thornton (Mr. Woodcock) and Rosario Dawson (Death Proof) were very enjoyable in their supporting roles. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes action and wants to get pulled into a movie.

Final Words: Saw it. Loved it. Glad the movie ended the way it did.
