The Heel Turn: TNA's Young highly entertaining

There have been plenty of developments in the world of pro wrestling over the Christmas holidays. In a twist that is sure to change things for TNA, current heavyweight champion Jeff Hardy is set to plead guilty to the drug charges that he facing. It's not certain how much time he will serve, but one thing is for sure; he must lose the belt. Not sure what TNA's reasoning was to make him champ in the first place since he can't seem to clean up his act and escape his demons. Hopefully the next wrestler to wear the strap is a competitor who deserves the honour and will bring some meaning back to it.

Some candidates are Samoa Joe, who has not been used all that much lately, or AJ Styles, who needs to get his own momentum going after being relegated to being Ric Flair's henchman in the heel stable Fortune. While they are handling the transition to a new champ, they should bring the old heavyweight belt back into circulation. That is, if they can pry it away from Eric Young, who seems to believe that he is champ, and he has convinced other talent like Sharkboy and Brian Kendrick of this "fact."

Speaking of Young, TNA seems to have changed up his character direction several times in the last few years, but when it comes to portraying someone as a goofy, comedic personality, this is how it should be done. The WWE needs to take note of this method, and give Santino something legitimately entertaining to do, as his skits are not humorous at all. Last week's Impact line of the night goes to Young, who observed that Sharkboy was getting a little too festive, and exclaimed, "That guy drinks like a fish!"

In other TNA news, Miss Tessmacher suffered a broken jaw in a non-wrestling related incident, and will be out of action for an undetermined length of time. This comes at a very inconvenient time in her career, as she had just started actively competing in the Knockouts division, which is already hurting from a dwindling roster as of late.

The WWE is not immune from superstars getting injured lately, either, as John Cena reportedly suffered a minor injury during a match against Wade Barrett. This is not supposed to keep him sidelined for too long, but in a very questionable move, the company offered refunds to fans expecting to see Cena at certain house shows. This makes you wonder if these Cena fans even care about wrestling as a whole, or just Cena, as there are plenty of other superstars capable of carrying shows. Placing so much importance on just one superstar simply cannot be a good thing. Regardless of Cena's injury, I'm sure they will find something for him to do every week, like they did when he was supposed to be "fired," yet showed up in the arena to attack Nexus at each RAW.
