Hart makes hell freeze over
Let's not forget the awesomeness of all the other matches included Samoa Joe retaining his title against AJ Styles and Chris Daniels and the amazing match between Rhino defeating Abyss.
Smackdown featured some same old/same old stuff. It was nice to see Benoit come out as the number one contender for the US Title. It's unfortunate that he's not a contender for the Heavyweight championship that he held not too long ago.
Speaking of writing and booking, who the hell agreed that Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker would be a good closer? The only thing something like that does is make me change the channel.
On the RAW side of things I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised and let down all in two hours. On the plus side, I can't believe the PPV quality match that was given by HHH and the Big Show. The Big Show? WTF? I have to say that the back and forth action with the double count-out and the crazy outside of the ring action that occurred after the match was the perfect blend of sports entertainment!
Imagine my surprise when the whole show started to slide with the horrible McMahon/HBK segment. Vince wants HBK to retire because Vince can't have inner peace and HBK has it? Not only is this whole rationale stupid, the segment could have been four minutes instead of twelve and Vince's overacting just made things seem even more ridiculous. Let's not even get into the Mickey James and Trish segments this week.
The main event was another excellent showing between Edge and Lita. You know Cena was going to win and Foley would be accused of screwing Edge. There was nothing screwy about the whole match or the reffing so it seemed even stupider when Coach started going on about a screw job! Stupid Coach. Oh well, like I said before, HBK vs. Vince, Foley vs. Edge and Cena vs. HHH all at WM 22.To end this on a pleasant note: Bret Hart will be inducted the night before WM at the annual Hall of Fame ceremony. I guess hell froze over.
