Holiday spirit filled the air as Londoners walked through Downtown London to sip on hot chocolate, sing and dance to Christmas music, and view illuminated evergreen trees.

The Holiday Detour run by Downtown London and Dundas Place on Nov. 29 took over the downtown core to kick off the holiday season.  The Lighting of the Lights, CP Holiday Train, the Free Hot Chocolate Crawl and Story Time with Elsa and Olaf were part of the Holiday Detour.  From the Covent Garden Market to the train tracks at Richmond and Piccadilly Streets, it was a musical celebration.

Fanshawe Chorus London performed at the Covent Garden Market. The Fanshawe Vocal Theatre Ensemble, a group of students in the Theatre – Performance program at Fanshawe College, sang just outside of the School of Digital and Performing Arts.

Music industry arts (MIA) and CTV’s The Launch alumna Saveria sang to the crowd surrounding the Victoria Park Bandshell before the lights came on and transformed the park into Winter Wonderland. A visit from the CP Holiday Train where Alan Doyle and the Beautiful Band played holiday tunes and Great Big Sea’s smash hit “Ordinary Day” concluded the night.
