The Heel Turn: Who is the new "They?"

TNA Genesis witnessed a changing of the guard, as Mr. Anderson became the new heavyweight champion. It was a hellacious night for Anderson, as he first had to go through Matt Morgan to earn the title shot. Bischoff then told Anderson that he would have to face Jeff Hardy that very night. The deck seemed to be stacked heavily against Anderson, as Matt Hardy made his TNA debut and tried everything to help his brother Jeff. Bischoff also interfered in the match, attempting to hit Anderson with a steel chair, but instead received a welldeserved Mic Check. Anderson also hit Hardy with a Mic Check and pinned him, with a little help from Morgan.

On the following Impact, Mr. Anderson came out to celebrate, and was soon joined by Morgan, who seemed to think that he deserved the next title shot. Morgan flat out informed Anderson that he was coming for the belt, and nothing would stop him. Bischoff came storming out to the ring after this to tell Anderson that he was a marked man, and that Immortal was after him. Anderson was not intimidated by Bischoff's threats though, and it looked like the boss was in for another Mic Check, until a fight broke out backstage between the Hardy's and RVD. Anderson ran back to help RVD, and they were both beat down by the full force of Immortal.

The new tag team champions Beer Money retained the straps against Motor City Machineguns, after Alex Shelly accidently kicked his partner Chris Sabin in the face.

Jeff Jarrett decided to end his MMA career on a winning streak. Funny how his retirement from being the "best" submission expert happened to coincide with Kurt Angle being back in action. Perhaps Double J is scared of Angle?

Jarrett also brought his new wife Karen to the Impact Zone to mess with Angle's head, seeing as how she is Angle's ex-wife, and there is still major friction between them. Angle charged the ring, taking out Jarrett's goons, and was about to attack Jarrett before Karen interrupted, and told Kurt that she had something in store for him, and that next week would be a night he would never forget.

RVD and Anderson busted into Immortal's dressing room and attacked Beer Money in retaliation for earlier. This, of course, drove Ric Flair into a rage once he heard that they had dared come into Immortal's turf.

Angelina Love and Winter defeated Madison Rayne and Tara, after Winter applied a vicious chokehold to Tara and made her pass out, an act that stunned even Angelina.

Morgan faced Abyss in a match that was soon spoiled by Flair and Rob Terry's interference on Abyss' behalf. Afterwards, though, Abyss was ambushed by Amazing Red's brother Crimson, who warned Abyss that "They" were coming for each and every member of Immortal. Flair and Bischoff did not believe Abyss when he told them, though. Rumour has it that this new "They" will be some version of the Main Event Mafia.

In the main event of the night, RVD and Anderson faced off against the Hardys, and Immortal rather predictably interfered, which allowed Jeff to pick up the win. Immortal may be the dominant force now, but that will change when this new "They" show up on February 3.
